Russian President Putin praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that “Make in India had an impressive effect on the Indian economy”

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi received plaudits from Russian President Vladimir Putin, who noted that the ‘Make in India’ project has had a really stunning impact on the Indian economy.

Vladimir Putin mentioned India as an example of a nation encouraging businesses to design, produce, and assemble goods domestically while speaking at a symposium in Moscow held by Russia’s Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI), the Russian television network RT reported.

“The ‘Make in India’ project was introduced some years ago by our friends in India and our great buddy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The impact it has had on the Indian economy is absolutely amazing. Even if our allies rather than ourselves came up with the idea, it wouldn’t hurt to copy it, the Russian president stated.

Vladimir Putin praised India’s effort to boost homegrown brands and goods in Russia and said that Moscow must “offer support tools to help our companies market their products more efficiently.”

He applauded India’s attempt to construct a successful model to boost domestic manufacturing capacity and attract global investment.

The ‘Make in India’ project, which was introduced in September 2014, is intended to make India the most sought-after location for global manufacturing, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

In New Delhi earlier, Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov praised the cooperation between the two nations. According to him, the “special Russia-India strategic partnership” has shown to be solid and is “growing stronger as ever.”

“Lies about Russia have been spread on a daily and international basis. There are attempts to sabotage ties between Russia and India, according to Envoy Alipov.
