Himachal Pradesh’s CM Sukhu will meet with PM Modi in the face of rain

<p>The chief minister said in a statement released here that a central team visited the affected districts in the hill state to examine the damage and would submit its findings. Sukhu said that he would soon go to Delhi to inform the prime minister and the home minister of the damages the state has incurred as a result of the recent severe rains.</p>

<p>The chief minister claims that Himachal Pradesh has lost a significant amount of money owing to the rains, amounting to Rs 8,000 crore. According to authorities, Sukhu would probably go to Delhi in the first week of August.</p>

<p>On Sunday, Sukhu paid a visit to the Chamba district and launched 14 development projects totaling Rs 82.14 million. According to the statement, he also set the cornerstones for roads and medical facilities as well as inaugurated residences, other offices, and structures housing educational and medical facilities.</p>

<p>Since the beginning of the monsoon on June 24, at least 187 people have perished in rain-related events and traffic accidents in Himachal Pradesh. According to government records, 34 persons are missing. According to the State Emergency Operation Centre, some 702 homes have been completely destroyed by the rain, while 7,161 have suffered partial damage.</p>
