<p>They would resolve their disagreements and develop a coordinated campaign plan to compete with the NDA in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. A few committees to design an alliance’s shared minimum program, create collaborative preparations for organizing agitations around the nation, and discuss seat sharing are also expected to be announced by the leaders.</p>
<p>Manoj Jha of the RJD told PTI that the Mumbai gathering will provide a “clear-cut roadmap” for offering a progressive alternative to the present regime’s regressive policies.</p>
<p>The INDIA group is also anticipated to announce the establishment of a secretariat in the national capital to facilitate effective cooperation amongst the components. The participants will also talk about whether the alliance needs a coordinator or chairman as its leader.</p>
<p>Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, is the front-runner to become convenor. Sonia Gandhi, a former leader of the Congress, is reportedly being considered to lead the coalition.</p>
<p>Sources claim that Gandhi informally indicated her opposition to the idea, despite Kumar publicly declaring that he is not running for governor.</p>
<p>The two-day conclave’s leaders, some of whom have already begun to arrive, will continue discussions on divisive topics including seat sharing. Tejashwi Yadav, the deputy chief minister of Bihar, and RJD president Lalu Prasad are already in Mumbai.</p>
<p>At its third summit, which will follow gatherings in Patna and Bengaluru, the 26-party opposition coalition is expected to welcome more regional organizations.</p>
<p>The first meeting of the INDIA bloc was held in Patna in June, while the second one was held in Bengaluru in the middle of July. The alliance’s name, Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), was decided upon during the Bengaluru conference.</p>
<p>Before the conference in Mumbai, Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, reaffirmed that his efforts to bring the opposition together were not motivated by any “personal ambitions” and that he would rather someone else be appointed as the opposition coalition’s leader.</p>
<p>“I have said from the start that I have no desire for myself… I don’t have any personal goals. I have no desires. The duty might be delegated to another person (convener position). My only objective is to bring together the greatest number of anti-BJP parties before to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Only in this direction am I working, added Kumar.</p>
<p>On Sunday, he had said that “a few more” political parties will probably join the INDIA coalition during its meeting in Mumbai. However, Kumar withheld the identities of the potential members of the group.</p>
<p>“At the Mumbai meeting, we’ll talk about seat-sharing-related concerns and finalize a number of other agenda items. In the next meeting, a few other political parties will join the INDIA alliance, according to Kumar.</p>
<p>According to Nana Patole, the president of the Maharashtra Congress, the INDIA bloc would adopt the rallying cry “BJP Chale Jao (BJP Go Away)” during the conference.</p>
<p>He said that the coalition has a large number of qualified contenders for the position of prime minister and suggested that certain parties that are now members of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) may decide to join the INDIA coalition.</p>
<p>Before the conclave, Congress leader Milind Deora said that, with the exception of a few states that need more time, seat distribution among alliance partners for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is mostly decided.</p>
<p>Deora, who is heavily engaged in planning the gathering, praised the “evolving chemistry” between the INDIA bloc members and said that Maharashtra was the greatest illustration of it.</p>
<p>A number of committees have been created by the Maha Vikas Aghadi, which consists of the Shiv Sena (UBT), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and Congress, to organize different parts of the meeting of the opposition bloc.</p>
<p>The opposition INDIA coalition is gathering for the first time in a state where none of the other bloc members are in office. The gathering would be primarily focused on unity.</p>
<p>The leader of INDIA bloc member the RLD, Jayant Chaudhary, has called speculation of his party joining the NDA “conjecture” and said that parties would not feel comfortable working with the BJP, which is “very effective” at silencing dissident voices.</p>
<p>The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader said the Congress has a “big role” moving forward since it is a “well-understood brand” and many people throughout the nation have voted for the party for a long time in an interview with PTI before the conclave.</p>
<p>Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, had said during the conclave held in the capital of Karnataka last month that the opposition will fight the 2024 elections successfully and together. Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, said that their struggle was against BJP ideology.</p>
