Virender Sehwag Praises India for Sticking With Failing Star in ODIs, Calling Him “Surely an X-factor”

With each ODI that goes by, the worries surrounding the Indian squad continue to fade. A number of their players were battling with form and fitness difficulties before to the Asia Cup 2023, but it seems that these have been resolved, and the squad is now completely prepared to begin their campaign for a third ODI world cup championship victory.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-197170″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/theindiaprint.com-mirwaiz-umar-reiterates-modis-stance-that-this-is-not-an-era-of-war-upon-his-retur.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com mirwaiz umar reiterates modis stance that this is not an era of war upon his retur” width=”1225″ height=”686″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/theindiaprint.com-mirwaiz-umar-reiterates-modis-stance-that-this-is-not-an-era-of-war-upon-his-retur.jpg 300w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/theindiaprint.com-mirwaiz-umar-reiterates-modis-stance-that-this-is-not-an-era-of-war-upon-his-retur-150×84.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1225px) 100vw, 1225px” title=”Virender Sehwag Praises India for Sticking With Failing Star in ODIs, Calling Him "Surely an X-factor" 6″>

Their concerns about having a dependable hitter at No. 4 have been virtually allayed thanks to KL Rahul’s steadiness since making his international comeback earlier this month. They have a specialist wicketkeeper-batter in Ishan Kishan who can bat with the new ball and manage the innings in middle overs as well.

The bowlers have thus far been nothing less than outstanding. And now that Suryakumar Yadav has scored 50 runs against Australia in Mohali, India have crossed off another item on their list.

Rahul Dravid has given Suryakumar his full support despite the fact that he has gone 19 innings without scoring an ODI half-century. He started the process of moving beyond the bad spell, which incidentally featured three consecutive golden ducks against Australia, on Friday.

Virender Sehwag, a former India opener, praised the squad for sticking with Suryakumar, who has had trouble translating his T20I success to ODIs.

The middle-order batsman, in Sehwag’s opinion, will be an X-factor and a formidable opponent.

Salutations to @surya_14kumar. He undoubtedly has prior experience. Few players can play with the equipment he can, and he definitely has the game to instill terror in the hearts of the opponents. It’s great that we stuck with him; he will be helpful. Bravo, Bharat,” Sehwag said on X (formerly Twitter).

The 33-year-old was pleased with his 50 off 49, which included five fours and a six in support of a successful cause.

“When I first began using this approach, I was daydreaming about these kind of innings. Although I tried to bat deep and complete the game today, I was unable to do so, but I’m still delighted with the outcome,” Suryakumar said after India’s five-wicket victory.

According to Suryakumar, he looked closely and discovered where things were going wrong.

“The teams and bowlers were all the same, so I was wondering what was going on for me in this format. I went back and thought about it and realized I was maybe rushing a little, so I made the decision to play more slowly and seriously,” he added.
