<p>The DoJ is looking into whether Tesla money were used to finance a covert scheme by Musk to construct a “glass house” for himself in Texas. This initiative was known internally at Tesla as “Project 42.”</p>
<p>According to a story in The Wall Street Journal, the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York has also asked for information about transactions between Tesla and other businesses linked to Musk.</p>
<p>The Justice Department is interested in learning whether Tesla reported Musk’s benefits in a legitimate manner.</p>
<p>Top executives are not given bonuses or any personal incentives, according to Tesla.</p>
<p>This month, the billionaire himself confirmed that he is not using funds from Tesla to construct a “glass house.”</p>
<p>“Just want to reiterate that there is no glass house (metaphors don’t count lol) built, under construction, or planned,” Musk wrote on X.</p>
<p>“I’m not constructing any type of residence anyplace. Finally, he said.</p>
<p>Additionally, ‘Project 42’ by Tesla is the subject of a civil inquiry by the US SEC.</p>
<p>An extravagant glass residence costing millions of dollars was previously planned by Musk for himself close to the Tesla headquarters in Austin, Texas, according to earlier sources.</p>
