<p>Speaking at a party meeting in this location, Haasan said that a “young child” was being attacked today because he had spoken Sanatana Dharma without mentioning Udhayanidhi, the BJP, or any other group.</p>
<p>The actor said that various stalwarts of the Dravidian movement, including Udhayanidhi’s grandfather and late DMK founder M Karunanidhi, have previously talked about Sanatana Dharma, indicating that the minister’s comment on it is not particularly novel.</p>
<p>According to Haasan, the reformist leader Periyar E V Ramasamy’s level of rage at societal injustices may be understood by looking at the leader’s biography. He said that only because of Periyar could individuals like himself comprehend the term “Sanatana.”</p>
<p>Even though Periyar had managed a temple and even did puja when residing in Kashi, he abandoned all of that and committed his whole life to serving others, according to Haasan.</p>
<p>He said that he personally has been one of those who honor Periyar, and that neither the DMK nor any other party can claim that Periyar belongs exclusively to them. Instead, the whole state of Tamil Nadu should commemorate him as their leader, he said.</p>
<p>Speaking about the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, he said that the BJP administration could try to push them forward for political reasons.</p>
