Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen has stated his nation is eager to establish additional platforms of cooperative research and development to identify common difficulties, debate them, and together come up with answers. He has described India-Israel defense connections as a vital pillar of their expanding alliance. According to him, there is a great potential for commerce between India and Israel, and there is a strong desire to complete a free trade deal that would further solidify the two countries’ economic connections.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-192137″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/theindiaprint.com-nia-arrests-accused-in-kerala-gold-smuggling-case-in-thiruvananthapuram-upon-arriv.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com nia arrests accused in kerala gold smuggling case in thiruvananthapuram upon arriv” width=”983″ height=”605″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/theindiaprint.com-nia-arrests-accused-in-kerala-gold-smuggling-case-in-thiruvananthapuram-upon-arriv.jpg 286w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/theindiaprint.com-nia-arrests-accused-in-kerala-gold-smuggling-case-in-thiruvananthapuram-upon-arriv-150×92.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 983px) 100vw, 983px” title=”Indian and Israeli Defense Relations: A Growing Partnership's Foundation, Says Foreign Minister Cohen 3″>

“A crucial tenet of the expanding collaboration has been the Indo-Israeli defense connection. Our relationships are built on three fundamental pillars: similar values, same interests, and shared difficulties. Israel was one of the first nations to support the Make in India program and launch cooperative ventures with an Indian industrial base because to its well-coordinated defense cooperation, he told THE WEEK magazine in an interview.

“There is no question that R&D helps the local business flourish here in Israel. We are prepared to provide new venues for collaborative research and development in order to identify common problems, talk about and solve them collectively, and even produce them. This partnership will benefit both parties greatly, he said.

Cohen spoke on the strengthening ties between the two nations and said that one of the significant turning points was Israel’s participation in the Make in India program. “At the moment, Israeli know-how and technology are being moved to India for manufacture. Israel remains India’s strategic partner, as well. There are several initiatives occurring, including collaborative ventures headed by our business sectors and other organizations, in addition to the ongoing discussions between numerous government ministries on agriculture, water, health, education, innovation, technology, and more,” he stated.

He noted that the ongoing development of India-Israeli ties is a reflection of their strategic partnership.

Cohen described the Haifa Port as a “strategic asset of Israel,” adding that the fact that it is now in the hands of an Indian firm “shows the level of trust and friendship our business ecosystems have in each other.” The port is a vital link in the India-Middle East-Europe economic corridor.

The biggest and most important port in Israel is the Port of Haifa. The Adani-Gadot Group-owned Haifa Port Company is in charge of managing the port’s operations. He said that improving regional connections and expanding commerce prospects in the area are the ultimate goals.

“We hope to see more of these alliances and partnerships between our business communities in the future.” Additionally, Cohen said that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have a close connection and that they both value their solid strategic collaboration.

He hoped that Prime Minister Netanyahu will visit India soon, with a focus on finding new methods to advance the two countries’ cooperation in many areas. “In my opinion, the FTA’s reach is far broader than its trade figures. The minister said, “We should talk about it with the goal of bilateral relations in mind.

Additionally, he said that the 2020 Abraham Accords, which were mediated by the US, had changed the game in terms of Israel’s relations with the Gulf states. “The agreements have opened up great possibilities for regional and global collaboration in a variety of fields, including energy, ecology, tourism, security, and more. Deepening interpersonal connections and commercial chances are becoming more prevalent, he added.

Israel wants to broaden the circle of peace and normalization, he said, and to maintain the regional growth that the agreements had already begun.

Regarding the conclusions of the first I2U2 gathering in the UAE, he stated I2U2 has tremendous potential and creates new chances. It brings together the talents and resources of Israel, India, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates to develop creative answers to some of the most pressing problems of the day, including as food and water security, energy, and health, he said.

The minister said that the goal of the mobility agreement, which permits Indian employees to work in Israel, is to facilitate and increase job prospects for Indian workers there. “The two nations are pleased to work together to streamline the immigration and hiring of Indian employees. The preservation of these employees’ labor rights while they are employed in Israel would also be promoted by the mobility deal, he said.
