<p>Sonia Gandhi said, “It is ours, ‘apna hai,’” to a question about the government introducing the Bill in the Lok Sabha earlier in the day.</p>

<p>In the supplemental list of business, the Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty-Eighth Amendment) Bill, 2023, was presented to Lok Sabha.</p>
<p>According to the Women’s Reservation Bill, there would be a quota for SC and STs in the reserved seats for women, and the reservation would last for 15 years. However, according to insiders, it is doubtful that the law would be put into effect before the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.</p>
<p>They stated that it won’t be implemented until after the delimitation process is complete, most likely in 2029.</p>
<p>Following a delimitation process, the reserve will go into force and last for 15 years. The measure stipulates that following each delimitation operation, seats designated for women would be switched.</p>
<p>Women, according to the government, actively engage in panchayats and local organizations, but their participation in State Assemblies and Parliament is still modest.</p>
<p>Women provide unique viewpoints and improve the quality of legislative discussions and decision-making, it was said.</p>
<p>The Bill has been labeled by the Congress as a poll jumla and a betrayal of the nation’s women and girls.</p>
