All X users will soon have to pay a “small monthly fee” to Elon Musk, and the social networking site won’t be free anymore.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-190892″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/theindiaprint.com-according-to-musk-x-will-shortly-start-charging-customers-a-small-monthly-payment-.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com according to musk x will shortly start charging customers a small monthly payment” width=”1188″ height=”890″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/theindiaprint.com-according-to-musk-x-will-shortly-start-charging-customers-a-small-monthly-payment-.jpg 259w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/theindiaprint.com-according-to-musk-x-will-shortly-start-charging-customers-a-small-monthly-payment–150×112.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1188px) 100vw, 1188px” title=”According to Musk, X will shortly start charging customers "a small monthly payment" 9″>

In an attempt to address the issue of bots on the platform, the owner of X broached the possibility that the social network may no longer be a free site during a live-streamed conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Musk claimed late Monday that it was “the only way I can think of to combat vast armies of bots.”

The billionaire said, “Even if it has to pay a few dollars or anything, the effective cost of bots is really high since a bot costs a fraction of a cent, call it a tenth of a penny.

The notion of charging all users of X is not a novel one; Musk initially discussed it last year.

The firm presently charges its X Premium members $8 per month for the privilege of editing articles, seeing fewer adverts, writing lengthier messages, and receiving higher ranks in searches and chats.

Musk said during the conversation that X currently has 550 million monthly users, producing 100–200 million posts daily.

The number of current paying customers was not made public by Musk.

229 million DAUs (monetizable daily active users) were announced by Twitter during its most recent quarterly financial report in Q1 2022.
